The 12 Days of Fitness- Days 11 & 12

Days 11 and 12:)

I can’t believe that the 12 Days of Fitness is already over!  It just goes to show you how fast time flies!

I want us to try two things during these days…

1. Enjoy everything in moderation.

–  I had a conversation with one of my best friends the other night.  I thought what she had to say was perfect!  She told me that she was at a Christmas party and she didn’t have any dessert.  She followed it up with saying that there was nothing really good that she would want to waste the calories on.  It is okay to enjoy goodies in moderation, but let’s leave it at that… moderation!  Only enjoy items that you will enjoy. Pick a favorite item or two and leave it at that:)  You will feel better during the party as well!

2. Laugh and take time to rest:)

–  One big part of fitness is resting.  Our bodies need rest sometimes, and there isn’t a more perfect time to accomplish this than during the holidays.  Laughing is good for our health too.  It helps us to stress less and enjoy life more.  Try to really focus on enjoying your holidays.  It is good for your health:)

I hope everyone has a great Christmas, and let’s remember the reason for the season:)

The 12 Days of Fitness- Day 10

Day 10:)

Today we are going to focus on adding an extra 15 minutes of walking to our day!  Moving is such an important part of fitness and staying healthy.  You will feel better the more you move:)

The obvious way to get an extra 15 minutes in of walking is to go for a 15 minute walk outside.  If it is too cold outside and you do not have a treadmill, then you could pick one of your favorite stores and walk around.  Another idea is to get some things done around the house that need finished.  As long as you are moving it works!

The 12 Days of Fitness- Days 8 & 9

Days 8 and 9- The 12 Days of Fitness

For these two days, we are going to be doing 20 jumping jacks and 20 high knees.

Cardio is an important aspect to fitness, and since it is cold outside we need ways to do cardio indoors.  Interval training and HIIT workouts are a great alternative to running outside.  Are you in the need for some good cardio?  Try these and some other exercises to get your heart rate up!

The 12 Days of Fitness- Day 7

Day 7:)

Today we are going sugar-free!  That means staying away from sugar for the whole day.  Fruits are good to eat, but try to limit your servings to about 2-3:)

As far as everything else goes make sure you check to make sure there is no extra sugar added on the nutrition label.  There are a lot of items that contain extra sugar.  Some of these items you would never guess have any in it!

You can do it!  It is only for one day:)

The 12 Days of Fitness- Day 6

Day 6 of the 12 Days of Fitness = 20 pushups!

If you need to modify them, then you can put your knees down for extra support.

For a challenge try to do all 20 without stopping for a rest!
